How long does it take to have a web site designed?

The time frame is determined by the size of your web site, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule. The average brochure site ranges from 1 to 3 days, and the average ecommerce site ranges from 1 to 3 weeks.

What is the site design process like?
A
After our initial consultation, where we discuss our clients needs, we offer suggestions for navigation, themes, and determine content placement. The next step is to build a mock-up, which is done in Adobe Photoshop. When we're certain that the client will be satisfied, we send a .jpg version of the mock-up. Upon approval, we will start development. If not, we revisit, redo, and keep at it until the client is satisfied.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a specific web site address that you choose, purchase, and register. An important purpose of domain names is to provide easily recognizable and memorizable names to numerically addressed Internet resources. Some hosting providers, like Lunar Pages, will include a free domain when you sign up for a plan.

Web hosting is a monthly fee that you pay to have your site accessible on the internet. We can support any host environment, but do not provide web hosting directly. We do recommend that clients (not already hosted, or looking to switch) use Lunar Pages Hosting.

What is site maintenance?

Site maintenance is a fee paid annually to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good web sites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. This is an optional service that we provide for our customers. If you want to maintain your website yourself you can do so too.

Do you offer software that will allow me to administer my own site maintenance?

Yes. This services - ranging from simple updates to database insertions - is custom built based on your needs.

What do I put on my site?

Every site is different, and should be organized accordingly. For <code_munkeys> this is the most important step, and is why we provide project management consultation with every project. No matter how big or small.

No. We do not use any templates. We code everything from hand using a text-editor.

We fully support any website we design and are always available should you encounter any problems or require any *enhancements. *Within reason.

This will depend upon the amount of information you wish to be displayed on your website. If you have many products/services, then it may be advantageous to have a database incorporated into your website design. We will discuss this in detail with you and if a database is advised we will explain in detail exactly how this will work. We can tailor your website design to suit your specific requirements.
